Pride of China
Pride of China (孟加拉茜草 Mèngjiālā qiàncǎo)
This tree is native to China, but due to the export of its nuts, it can now be found growing in India, Spain and southern France. The nuts are very hard indeed, so have been used in the making of rosaries for many centuries. They are poisonous and are never eaten. It is the bark of the tree, however, that has the unique properties that make it an excellent medicant. When taken as a drink, it acts as a dynamic purgative, so much so that it can rid the system of worms more quickly than most other remedies.
