Black Nightshade (龙葵 Lóng kuí)
This is the same family as the potato, and therefore it has the same poisonous constituent, namely glyco-alkaloid, and because it grows wild, and has very inviting black berries, it can be extremely dangerous to children. Tests in China have proved that it can be fatal even to livestock. However, whilst the whole plant is used medicinally after it has been boiled, it is the juice that is used in minute dosages in our ancient herbalism. It is mainly used to clear various types of fevers, to assist the body to pass urine, and to eliminate toxic levels in the system. Because of this, it is an internal aid against external symptoms which show themselves in the form of skin ulcers, rashes, boils etc It is also a very powerful weapon in the fight against leucorrhoea.
