Chinese Dates 枣 Zǎo


Slowly simmer (flesh and stone together) in hot water until a thick liquid is obtained, drain off the sediment, and drink the water in doses of a dessertspoonful at a time. This is effective against weaknesses of the stomach and spleen, fatigue, low energy levels and anaemia; it soothes the heart and the lungs; and, for anyone whose mouth is continually dry, it activates the saliva.
