Plantain (Plantago Major/Plantago lanceolata)

Plantain Herb.jpg

I wonder how many gardeners in the world curse this very common weed, which is just as common in China as anywhere else, and multiplies just as quickly. It is used, and very successfully, for all external inflammations, such as nettle stings, insect stings and bites, and morbid skin complaints caused by heat, friction or pain, as well as for cuts, grazes and external haemorrhages. Internally it is used to combat consumption, dysentery and bleeding of the stomach and lungs.
