Chris Simpson is the President of the Taoist Cultural Arts Association.
He graduated with a BA in philosophy from the University of Warwick in 1984. In 1982 Chris started training with Chee Soo at his class in Leamington Spa and also in Coventry where he attended Chee Soo's weekend and Special courses.
In 1983 he started a T'ai Chi club at Warwick University and became a qualified T'ai Chi teacher, he also became qualified to teach Feng Shou kung Fu and opened a kung fu club at Warwick University. Chris then went on to teach T'ai Chi at Chee Soo's club in Leamington Spa.
Chris trained with Chee Soo for twelve years and opened clubs in the Midlands area including teaching in Leamington, Coventry, Kenilworth, Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon.
After the death of Chee Soo and with the approval of Marilyn Soo Chris and his partner Rachel Simpson established the Taoist Cultural Arts Association in order to preserve the standards and grading syllabus of the Association and also to promote the Lee style Taoist Arts as taught by Chee Soo.
In 2002 Marilyn Soo gave the international copyright of all Chee Soo's written works to Chris who established Seahorse Books in order to make Chee Soo's books available again to the public.
Chris is currently developing online training resources to accompany the books including a software training environment using motion capture and game engine technology known as Tai Chi Elements.
